My teaching philosophy is grounded in the idea that each individual possesses an expertise. My role is to help students discover, uncover and empower that genius.

I believe students can thrive if I set clear and high expectations. My role is to motivate and build on prior learning and experiences needed for certification and skill attainment and success. 

I believe all students - regardless of age or background - have the capacity to learn and to teach.  My role is to inspire, motivate, and students navigate the educational system so they can translate their gifts and skills into certifications, degrees, credentials and the workforce. 

I believe that there core elements that are conducive to learning. (1) The instructor’s role is to act as a guide and facilitator (2) Students must have access to hands-on activities. (3) Students should be able to have choices and let their curiosity direct their learning. (4) Students need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment. (5) Student experiences must be highlighted with learning
